This 4 hour course is a non-shooting course that teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, confidence, and explains the necessary attitude for safe handling, storage of firearms and ammunition in the home. The course will also familiarize participants with safe firearm handling procedures and guidelines for storing pistols, rifles and shotguns in the home. This is a four hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught the rules and knowledge for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearm accidents, firearm parts and how to identify, load and unload different types of firearms. The different types and uses of ammunition, cleaning and care firearms are also reviewed. The class will also cover safe and proper transportation of firearms and ammunition as well as proper range safety and etiquette.

This course is a must for current or prospective firearm owners, parents and anyone who has children in or around their home, and anyone who wishes to learn how to properly safeguard firearms in their home. There is also a focus on the psychology of children, how it relates to firearms and what you can do to educate your children as you see as appropriate. Additional topics discussed include the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety Handbook & NRA Gun Safety Rules card/brochure to take home with them after course completion.

We provide all firearms, inert training ammunition & course materials for this non shooting course.

NOTE: NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM
